Dining Heaven at The Marina’s Pier 7

You could dine out every night for a month and still only have made a slight dent in the options on offer in Dubai Marina. The district’s clutch of hotels and hundreds of licensed venues make it one of the most diverse places in the city to socialise. Hangouts are routinely packed at weekends as well as week nights, with not just residents but tourists and business travellers, making the most of the area’s rich offerings.

Pier 7, a dedicated food and beverage development joined by a bridge to the Marina Mall, opened its first restaurant, the Lebanese eatery Abdel Wahab, last year, followed by Mexican themed restaurant Ocacti.

This year has seen Atelier M move up a grade in the desirability stakes thanks to receiving its licence,
and the opening of Cargo, an Asian restaurant offering tasty sharing platters and street food as well as traditional Asian main courses. One of the many benefits of Pier 7 is that all of its outlets have balcony seating with great views of the Marina. Make the most of them before the weather gets too hot.

It is not just evenings out that Dubai Marina is great for. Residents and visitors alike enjoy plentiful opportunities to breakfast out. A traditional Italian breakfast is a treat worth seeking out at Carluccio’s in the Marina Mall. The restaurant opens from 8am, serving delicious fare including Eggs Florentine – eggs served on a muffin with spinach and creamy hollandaise sauce.

Next week, a popular event makes its return to the district. The Dubai Marina Street Festival, featuring comedians, acrobats and all kinds of street performers, will take place at the Marina Mall from 3-12 April, from 4pm onwards.

If you want to be part of the Marina’s vibrant lifestyle, it is best to act quickly as it is one of the city’s most popular areas and prices are climbing. A small studio will set you back a minimum of AED 69,000 per year, while one bedroom properties start from AED 80,000, rising to AED 185,000 for luxury furnished hotel apartments. Two bedroom properties range from AED 115,000 to AED 240,000. Three bedroom properties start from AED 140,000, rising to AED 340,000 for a 3,881 sq. ft. apartment in the Emirates Crown building. Four bedroom properties range from AED 270,000 to AED 310,000, while five bedroom properties are listed between AED 550,000 and AED 600,000 per annum.

AED 1.39 million. Luxury penthouses start from AED 9.25 million.
