Special delivery for Dubai Marina’s unsung heroes.

Dubai Marina is often heralded as an architectural triumph. With a plethora of towering sky scrapers and breath taking views of the Marina, it is difficult to contest that claim. While many are quick to admire the beauty of the location, few appreciate the people who made it possible.

Dubai’s construction workers are the city’s greatest unsung heroes. Working tirelessly for hours in less than favourable weather conditions, construction workers are, to slightly paraphrase a popular saying, the hands behind every impressive structure in the city.

Which is why, over 20 members of the Betterhomes Dubai Marina office, came together to assemble and deliver special food packages to the labourers working on the construction of the Al Raheem Mosque in Dubai Marina.

Together, the team delivered over 270 meals to the men working for contractor Arabtec. Each box contained biryani, dates, a bottle of water, juice and a fruit.

“As a team, we wanted to show our appreciation to the people helping to build our community. In the spirit of Ramadan, we wanted to appreciate the effort of the workers who are building the Al Raheem Mosque” said Manuela Reis, Manager of Residential Sales and Leasing at the Better Homes Dubai Marina Office.

“Delivering the meals at midday was an eye-opener of what the construction workers have to go through every day. Although we were out in the sun for a brief period of time, we became acutely aware of just how physically demanding the weather is. We have nothing but respect for these unsung heroes!” she added.

The Al Raheem Mosque meal hand-outs is just one of many acts of charity carried out by Better Homes staff during the holy month of Ramadan. In addition to handing out personal care and hygiene products to labourers working at Jumeirah Lake Towers, Betterhomes staff have assembled and handed out Iftar meals after Friday prayers at the Jumeirah Mosque. The company is also running a Facebook competition for random acts of kindness conducted during the holy month of Ramadan.
