To date, the charity has supplied more than 120,000 meals to those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. “Providing food to the needy is one of the main focuses of Dar Al Ber Society’s humanitarian activities, so we decided to help laborers affected by the outbreak of COVID-19,” said Dr. Hisham Al Zahrani, Deputy Director, Social Sector. If you would like to contribute, you can sponsor a meal for a person for Dhs10, or a food basket for a family for Dhs500 – simply contact zakat@daralber.ae.

Cook like a pro

A simple brunch favourite for the weekend, this eggs benedict recipe comes courtesy of Martin Brenneisen, executive chef of Chival at La Ville Hotel and Suites, City Walk.

Ingredients

• 1 whole wheat muffin
• 4 slices of turkey ham
• 2 poached eggs
• 2 cherry tomatoes
• 60gr hollandaise sauce
• 3gr chives

Method:

1. Poach the eggs in simmering water
2. Grill the turkey ham
3. Caramelize the cherry tomato
4. Toast the whole wheat muffin with butter
5. Pour on the hollandaise and serve.
