Celebrate Life in Dubai Festival City.

If you want to live in a community that has the best of both worlds – the buzz of a city but the tranquility of a quiet suburb, then Dubai Festival City, in particular the green community of Al Badia, could be the place for you. The community runs alongside Dubai Creek and is close to the city’s airport, but without the same problems with aircraft noise experienced by those living in nearby Mirdif. The Al Badia development, which is adjacent to Festival City Mall, is in increasing demand thanks to its pretty Arabian-style architecture and comfortable, spacious properties.

The Dubai Festival City Mall is home to a large cinema, an Ikea store and a wide choice of shops and restaurants. While there is plenty of opportunities to sit at the malls’ numerous creek front restaurants and simply watch the world go by, there are other ways to enjoy Dubai’s cultural life there. Al Fanar, one of the country’s few restaurants serving authentic Emirati cuisine, is based in the mall. It is part restaurant, part museum, with life-sized figures and scenes of traditional Emirati life recreated in plastic for you to admire on your way to your table. It is a great chance to get a rare glimpse of authentic local life, and try delicacies including all day breakfasts of Emirati-style pancakes and eggs and aromatic grilled meat, fish and rice.

It is not just local culture that is catered to in Festival City. Once a year for a week, the area is filled with the sounds of the Dubai Jazz Festival. In recent years, the event has expanded beyond the boundaries of jazz to include music from other genres, including world renowned acts such as Jamie Cullum, Earth Wind & Fire, Santana and The Wanted. The Emirates Literature Festival also takes place at the Intercontinental in Festival City.
