A Night at the Movies in JBR

Many residents may have heaved a sigh when they heard that part of the beach in JBR was to be redeveloped into another shopping mall, but, as time has gone by, it has become clear that The Beach at JBR is something a little bit different. It incorporates the natural resources of the ocean and beach with shopping, dining, and leisure to create a social space with a relaxed vibe.

More of the development comes to life as the weeks pass, and the latest addition is a new Reel Cinema with seven screens, including one open air, and three additional luxury platinum suites. There are few greater pleasures in the life of a movie buff than watching a film under the stars on the big screen, and the time is ripe to do it before Dubai’s traditionally sticky summer temperatures arrive.

If the movies are not your thing, there is plenty more to entertain you, as there are new free to use toilets and showers to make impromptu beach visits much more comfortable. As well as that, those of an artistic bent have been catered to, with a “Live Artist Window”, most recently featuring Palestinian artist Hazem Harb, who spent several days producing an abstract work of art while members of the public watched. Thought has also gone into fitness with fitness machines and a running track.

The JBR development consists of 40 towers, 35 residential, comprising close to 7,000 apartments, and five hotels. It is one of the city’s iconic construction projects, photographed and filmed widely and now a worldwide symbol of Dubai’s success. As demand increases, prices continue to rise, with one bedroom properties listed for rent from AED 120,000 and two beds from AED 130,000. Three bedroom properties start from AED 175,000, rising to AED 220,000 for a 1,903 sq. ft. property.
